Lucknow Metro | CM sends proposal MHA, wants CISF to guard Aqua line, Lucknow Metro

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Yogi Adityanath has written the letter to the Centre, for the CISF security for the Lucknow Metro. In his written letter he mentions about the Aqua Metro which is soon to be launch, connecting Noida and Greater Noida. Recently the CISF has also conducted a security survey and audit of the residence of the UP CM. Union Home Ministry sources said that the request from the UP government is being processed, and a proposal from CISF on the security infrastructure and the management has already been received, sources said. A senior officer said that the CISF recently carried out a security survey of the Lucknow Metro and the Noida-Greater Noida Metro along with the UP Police, and based on the survey, the proposal has been prepared and sent to the MHA. Aluminium Rail Wagon to be made in Rae Bareily at MCF

New Delhi: Indian Railways will soon add another feather to its cap. Aluminium Rail Wagons to be introduced in railways for the first time in India. These will be made at the Rae Bareilly Morden Coach Factory (MCF). The facility at Rae Bareily will start producing aluminum rail wagons. These wagons will be durable, lighter and most importantly corrosion resistant. This will be the first time in the country that Indian Railways will opt for the alternative wagon. The aim of initiating this is to improve and increase the efficiency of coaches. These light aluminum coaches would help in achieving higher speeds. They also last longer than the currently in use in Linke-Hofmann Busch (LHB) coaches. In urban India metro rail uses aluminum coaches. These will now become a defining feature in Indian Railways. Monorail | Staff and Employees halt the work until their salary releases

Mumbai:   The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) from 1 September plans to restart the Chembur-Wadala services of the monorail.  The work of Monorail is stuck in limbo when the employees of the operator have refused to resume duties. They mention that they will start work only after the last two months payment release. None of the employees would work until the unpaid salaries are cleared. The MMRDA would shell out advance payment to LTSE consortium to help them clear payments. In November, the Maharashtra government shut down the controversial Mumbai monorail service after the safety of commuters was endangered by a series of mishaps and technical glitches, including a fire in one of the trains. Hyderabad Metro | Ridership in metro crosses one-lakh mark 

HYDERABAD:  The Metro rail ridership is now crossing the one lakh mark on several weekends and routine weekdays, said Metro authorities, on Tuesday. According to figures provided by the authorities, while nearly 1,18,000 commuters, including 1,10,000 paid passengers, used the Metro on Sunday on Monday, a total of 1,10,000 commuters, which included 1,02,000 paid passengers, used the service, informed Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) managing director N V S Reddy, on Tuesday. According to Reddy, with worsening traffic congestion on roads and improved first and last mile connectivity at Metro stations across the city, ridership is going up every day. NHSRCL plans to turn coaches into clinics for bullet train project

New Delhi: In order to ease out the issue pertaining to land acquisition for Bullet Train, National High-Speed Rail Corporation (NHSRCL) has come out with a sensible solution. It plans to turn coaches into clinics that will help Indian Railways in acquiring land. NHSRCL has taken this call after it learnt that villagers needed better health facilities. The villagers also need access to education, portable water as well as infrastructure facility. Monorail | The operational cost of Mumbai Monorail to raise up to 130%

Mumbai: India’s only Monorail operational cost to more than double as per latest development. There is an expected 130% hike in the per-trip cost of operation from ₹4,600 to ₹10,600. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) panel has suggested increasing the per-trip fare. A panel was constituted by MMRDA on August 15 to bring closure to the deadlock between monorail operator and MMRDA over per-trip expense. After discussions and deliberation, the committee has in its report suggested on increasing the per-trip cost to ₹10,600 from ₹4,600. MMRDA was already incurring losses while operating the 8.9-km section of the monorail between Chembur and Wadala (Phase-1). Ironically, with panel suggesting a hike in per-trip fare, MMRDA will feel a further dent. The state agency will be incurring additional losses if the fare is implemented. Noida Metro | Delhi Metro cards cannot be used on Aqua Line

Noida: There will be a different ticketing system for soon-to-be-made operational Aqua Line . This line will also have a different security set-up as well. Commuters will not be able to make use of their Delhi Metro card while traveling on this line. Besides this, there will be no interchange between the Sector 71 Station on the Aqua Line as well as Sector 52 station on the Blue Line extension in Noida. Delhi Metro | DMRC begins trial of violet line from Escort Mujesar to Ballabhgarh

Haryana: On 24 August trial runs started for the 3.2-kilometre long section from Escorts Mujesar till Ballabhgarh. After starting this section this will become the fourth city in Haryana to get Metro connectivity after Gurgaon, Faridabad, and Bahadurgarh. Delhi Metro | Commuters no need to carry token or card, can pay fare by smart phone

New Delhi: From the end of August the Commuters traveling to the metro airport line will not require a token or smart card. Smart mobile phones are only applicable for this not the feature phone. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) in Airport line is going to start the facility for rent payment by scanning the QR code on all six stations of the Metro Line. According to DMRC, this facility will be available by the end of August. Two AFC (Automatic Fare Collection) Gates and two Gates have been earmarked for the purpose of scanning the QR code at each station. After scanning the QR code, the trial will go for more than two months for the rent payment. The airport line starts from New Delhi Metro station and goes to Dwarka Sector 21. Monorail | MMRDA spends more then it generate RTI report reveal

Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has to pay a higher trip rate for operating the country’s monorail corridor. When next month its services resume , MMRDA will also have to bear with another huge expenditure so that they can provide security for the 8.9-km corridor. The Right to Information Act, 2005, informs that MMRDA had to shell out more money on the corridor’s security than the revenue it rakes in from the service. In the first six months of the 2017-18 fiscal, when the monorail was operational, the revenue generated was a mere 62% of the expenditure borne by MMRDA for security. A senior official said that between 2014 and 2016, the MSSC had deployed 331 security personnel at stations and the depot. The deployment was reduced to 243 personnel from July 2016. Ghaziabad Metro | Full trail runs started on the Red Line extension

Delhi : The Red Line extension would soon become operational for commuters. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has already conducted a preliminary trial run on the 9.4 Km Garden-New Bus Stand metro corridor to check for any infringement on the track. On Monday DMRC has started full signaling trial on the route. The first trail run was attended by District magistrate and vice-chairperson of GDA, Ritu Maheshwari. The trail run will now go on for 15 days. DMRC during its trial run on Saturday to ensure appropriate contact with overhead electric poles. NITI Aayog to review the progress of Metro rail systems

New Delhi: To review the progress of standardization and indigenization of Metro rail systems across the country. The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs will engage NITI Aayog. As per the ministry, the main motives remain to promote the government"s "Make in India" initiative for executing Metro rail projects in states. The number of construction and manufacturing Industries also promoting their work under the Make in India program. The ministry has standardized specifications of rolling stock, signaling and telecom systems for Metro rails across the country, the official said. Hyderabad Metro | HMDA Calls tenders for green lungs soon

Hyderabad:  Chief Secretary SK Joshi on Friday asked the officials concerned to complete the green lungs tender process in one month to develop 59 urban forest parks under Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits. At a review meeting at the Secretariat here with officials on urban forest parks spread in seven districts, he said: "the related works had to be completed by next March." The Chief Secretary said, "59 sites had been identified in HMDA limits which could be developed as forest parks." He directed different departments including the Forest Department to take up the works and to develop 15 parks. HMDA should develop 17 parks, TSIIC 11, Tourism 7, Forest Corporation 4, GHMC 3 and Metro Rail 2 and complete the fencing and tender process works as per schedule, he said. Surat: The diamond city of Gujarat will soon add another diamond to its crown. Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has said the construction work of  Mumbai Metro III can be done at night. Mumbai Metro III project’s construction that was stayed by the court for almost a year is finally set to resume. The year-long stay had cost the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) an estimate of Rs 6,100 crore. Mumbai:   Good news for all the employees of Larsen & Toubro-Scomi Engineering (LTSE). Since long-lasting deadlock between the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and its monorail contractor a consortium of Larsen & Toubro-Scomi Engineering (LTSE) for trip rates is likely to be resolved soon as per official information. From next month the Indian Railways will start trials for semi-high speeds trains

New Delhi: The  Indian Railways  will start trials for indigenously-built and much-awaited semi- high speed "Train 18" from next month, a senior official of the ministry said, three months after its scheduled unveiling. Once, successfully tested, it shall be inducted in the railways fleet. The Research Design and Standards Organisation (RDSO), which is a technical adviser to the Indian Railways, will conduct testing and give its validation to the train. Rather than being pulled by a locomotive, "Train 18" sets are powered by traction motors fitted underneath each coach to render them self-propelled, just like metro trains. The made-in-India fleet was earlier scheduled for roll-out in June. The Train 18, which is built by Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Chennai, would promote Make in India, and is capable of running at a speed of 160 km per hour, the official said. Mumbai: Mumbai residents have decided to on the poll issue they will target the government ahead of 2019 elections. Hyderabad: Public transport in Hyderabad will become all the more efficient with Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) planning to integrate its service with metro rail. Dilip Buildcon said that the company has been declared L-1 bidder for Bhopal Metro rail project, Phase -I, valued at Rs 247.06 crore by the Urban Administration and Development Department Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Co Ltd (MPRCL), Bhopal, in a BSE filing. The project which includes construction of design and construction of elevated viaduct between AIIMS and Subhash Nagar (excluding stations) which includes entry and exit to the depot for Bhopal Metro Rail project, phase-l. Gahlot said that from August 24 commuters taking the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses will now be able to pay bus fares using metro smart cards. The passenger will be required to give his smart card to conductor while hitching a ride. Once the smart card is swiped, the fare will be deducted from the card of the commuter. Nagpur:  The Nagpur Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) along with completing metro rail project will also be assisting in completing development work in Nagpur. This comes after Union Minister Nitin Gadkari asking metro officials to assist in completing development works pending in the city. Gadkari was present at the review meeting organized to oversee the status of development work in the city. He was presiding the meeting and Brajesh Dixit, the Managing Director of Maha Metro was also present. Dixit has assured Gadkari that they will complete all the development projects within a set timeframe. Metro rail project in Pune going on at fast pace, 21 % completion rate

Pune : Metro rail development in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad is moving on a jet-set speed. As per early estimates, 21 percent of work is completed, hinting a good physical progress of the work. This was communicated via written replay to Parliament by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. The ministry asserted that progress is far better than other metro projects taking place across the country. It was in December 2016 that Pune Metro was launched. It is commendable to note that around 21 percent of civil work has been completed in about 19 months. Work has been progressing well in two Metro corridors — Vanaz to Ramwadi­ —PCMC to Swargate covering a distance of 32.25 km. Nagpur: The metro work which was expected to run on smooth lines in Nagpur has hit a roadblock. The  Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has already transferred land and given nod for demolishing Tekdi flyover. Delhi Metro | High court ask justification to DMRC on non availability of free water at station

New Delhi: On Monday Delhi High Court asked to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to justify the not availability of free water to the passengers. While other metros are servicing free water for passengers, some of the metros are Kochi, Jaipur, Lucknow and other cities metro. Chief Justice Rajendra Menon and Justice V.K. Rao"s bench asked DMRC how they are going to provide drinking water to the passengers at one place within the metro stations so that everyone can reach them. Noida: On Monday, a trial started on the aqua line between Sector-71 to Sector-83 running from Noida to Greater Noida. This line will facilitate people living in Greater Noida can easily travel to Delhi-NCR. According to the sources, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) executive director PD Upadhyay said that the trial began on Sector-71 to Sector-83 between about 4.5 and 5 km long track. This is being done by the Trial Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO). He told that the trial will now be started simultaneously from the Sector-71 to the Greater Noida Depot, on a total of 29.707 km long Metro track.
