High speed rail to soon link Meerut, Alwar with IGI

New Delhi:  People from Meerut, Panipat, and Alwar will soon be able to reach Delhi airport in less than 90  minutes.Rail-based high-speed commuter service, on the lines of Crossrail of London and RER of Paris, is being developed to connect regional nodes of NCR with the Aerocity at IGI Airport. The Centre government, along with the governments of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, are part of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is the executing agency for the two other links — the Delhi-Panipat and the Delhi-Alwar corridors. It will have Sarai Kale Khan as their interoperable hub. An interoperable hub will provide facility to passengers to travel hassle free and a passenger can commute from one state to another without changing any train. RRTS | Delhi Government rejects Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor

New Delhi: The Delhi Government has rejected the Delhi- Meerut  RRTS corridor,   National Capital Region Transport Corporation"s (NCRTC) proposal to build an elevated station at Sarai Kale Khan. The Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) aims to reduce travel time between the two cities to just 55 minutes. The construction of the station would delay the redevelopment project of the existing Sarai Kale Khan inter-state bus terminal (ISBT) by more than two years. The Sarai Kale Khan station was supposed to be the starting point of the RRTS line from Delhi. However, State Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot returned the file on September 12 saying that the government would approve the station only if it"s according to the previous plan in which the station was designed to be underground, said Delhi government.   While changing the station"s design, the Delhi government was not kept in loop by the NCRTC. Meerut to start work on Rapid Rail on the ground by 1 July

Meerut : Meerut Development Authority has convinced National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) that, to start the work of Rapid Rail Project on the ground from Meerut first and Duhai to Sahibabad.  After this, NCRTC has invited tender for five stations between Modi Nagar and Meerut. It is believed that even though on 1 July working of Rapid Rail will start on the ground, its work may delay in carrying of actual work. The Central Government will try to complete the project in the whole West UP and NCR before the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. New Delhi: After opening of Delhi-Meerut Express Way and Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the Government plans to start construction work of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor . The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has started work on this project, so that it can be opened in the scheduled time in the year 2024 to facilitate passengers. Meeurt: The Divisional Commissioner, Meerut had called a Stakeholders meeting on Thursday to discuss issues related to implementation of Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) Corridor. The National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC) made a presentation giving overview of RRTS in general and Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Corridor of RRTS in particular. The scheme, plans, transformational benefits of project to citizens and role of project in balanced and sustainable economic development of the region were highlighted. RRTS, once implemented will be the fastest, safest and most comfortable backbone of transport with seamless, multimodal inter-connectivity across NCR leading to all around development of the region. The project will incentivize direct, indirect and induced employment. This would also open up new markets and new opportunities. Center eyes on delay in Delhi Metro"s Phase IV project and RRTS projects of NCRTC

New Delhi: The central government has decided to go forward with Delhi Metro’s phase IV project and Regional Rapid Rail System (RRTS) connecting the national capital with Meerut . Both major MRTS projects are pending before the Delhi Government for approval. “The Aam Aadmi Party-led city government was sitting on the project, which is pending for the last three years. We are finding a solution. The solution is where we are not getting support from the Delhi government over the metro projects, we have decided that we will do it ourself. Rail corridors, we will do on our own. If they (Delhi government) are not willing to approve a project or provide funding, we are finding out the solution for it,” Hardeep Singh Puri, Union Minister of housing and urban affairs told media on Monday. Center asks Delhi Govt to expedite approval for rapid rail transit corridor

New Delhi: Taking note of unnecessary delay, the National Capital Region Planning Board (NCRPB) of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has asked the Delhi Government to expedite approval pertaining to the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) corridor connecting Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut . The proposed corridor is also known as high speed rail corridor. In a related development, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) , which is executing the RRTS project, has allowed the Uttar Pradesh government to run Metro trains on the same high speed railway track within Meerut. This is the first time that Metro train and high speed rail will run on the same track. The high-speed rail will cover the distance from Meerut to New Delhi in around 30 minutes. Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail to get connectivity with three Delhi Metro stations

New Delhi: The high-speed rail corridor between Delhi and Meerut will have three stations in Delhi, instead of two, connecting the link to three different lines of Delhi Metro Rail Project. The National Capital Region Transport Corporation Limited (NCRTC), which is executing the project, has added New Ashok Nagar of the Noida line of Delhi Metro as the third station. The other two are Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar. The project is yet to get in-principle approval from the Delhi government, but sources said another station was added in Delhi after a request from Delhi government representatives. All three stations will be developed as interchange hubs. Sarai Kale Khan and Anand Vihar will also have connectivity with railway stations and bus terminals.
