Delhi Metro | CMRS to carry safety check of Shiv Vihar-Trilokpuri section on Pink Line

New Delhi: Finally Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) has given his date to carry out the safety inspection of 17.86 km long stretch of Shiv Vihar - Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake on Pink Line (Line-7) on October 20. After successful inspection and obtaining safety clearance, this section will be opened for the public. This section having 15 elevated stations including three interchange facilities. The stations come in this section are Trilokpuri Sanjay Lake, East Vinod Nagar-Mayur Vihar-II, Mandawali-West Vinod Nagar, IP Extension, Anand Vihar ISBT, Karkardooma, Karkardooma Court, Krishna Nagar, East Azad Nagar, Welcome, Jaffrabad, Maujpur- Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave, and Shiv Vihar. The three interchange stations on this new section are Anand Vihar (Blue Line), Karkarduma (Blue Line) and Welcome (Red Line).  After the opening of this new section, the Delhi Metro network will expand to 314 km. Hyderabad Metro | Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao to inaugurate Metro stretch

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad metro network starting from Ameerpet to LB Nagar will soon be inaugurated by Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao in August. Earlier in November 2017, the first two stretches were launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Presently, trial runs are going on for the Ameerpet to LB Nagar stretch. If the  Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd  authorities get all necessary clearance with regards to safety, then this stretch will be inaugurated in August. The date of opening the lines will be fixed on CM gives his availability on a particular date. A senior officer from the metro rail shared that only after successful trial run will the authorities receive safety clearance. Currently, several parameters for passenger safety and train are under evaluation. Post trail run success, the authorities will apply for safety clearance. The CM will be briefed about the progress and all the other aspects. A request will be put forward to sought CM’s time to finalise the inau...

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) completed the trials and testing of the 20.6 kilometre long Majlis Park- Durgabhai Deshmukh South Campus section of its Pink Line (Phase 3) on Monday. The route has also received most of the important and mandatory clearance required for the next step of inviting the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) to inspect the section, including fire safety, license for working lifts, preliminary Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) reports for signalling and platform screen doors, from the department of telecommunications. According to press release, “The papers for scrutiny and detailed examination by CMRS are under submission to his office and after these are cross checked, examined and scrutinised in depth by the office of CMRS, further action is expected. In addition, since the application involves voluminous data of civil, electrical, signalling and track, DMRC may also have to supply any additional information further sought by...

Nagpur Metro | Maha Metro focus on completion of second stretch of the Metro Rail Project

Nagpur: The first section of the Nagpur Metro between Mihan Depot and South Airport is ready and now Maharashra Metro Rail is concentrating on the second stretch between Hingna Depot and Subhash Nagar. Maha-metro has set the goal of completing this section in August. A Maha-metro official told TOI that the construction work on the viaduct from the Hingna depot to Subhash Nagar is 50% complete.   The five stations of the section: Lokmanya Nagar, Bansi Nagar, Wasudeo Nagar, Rachana T-point and Subhash Nagar, will be put into operation by then, however the finishing will continue for a few more months, he said. After this elevated section is ready, Maha-metro will conduct a test run in this section and then invite the Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) for inspection. Center approves separate post & office for Metro Railway Safety Commissioner

New Delhi: More than a decade after it was first contemplated in the Metro Railways (Operations and Maintenance) Act of 2002, the Ministry of Civil Aviation created a post for the Metro Railway Safety Commissioner under the Railway Safety Commission, as an official notification dated January 10. Last month, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the proposal to create an office of a circle of Metro Railway Safety Commissioner, along with all the officers and support staff to carry out the functions of the Metro Railway Safety Commission. The Railway Safety Commission, which operates under the administrative control of the Ministry of Civil Aviation, deals with matters related to the safety of train travel and the operation of the train. Originally, it was established as the Railways Inspectorate together with the Railways Board in 1905. Nagpur: The Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) is ready to inspect Maha Rolling Nagpur Rolling Stocks and the MIHAN car depot. The team of Mumbai and Lucknow officials, led by CMRS, Central Circle, Mumbai, will arrive on January 16 for inspection. The CMRS inspection and its subsequent report would pave the way for greater approval of the approval and use of the Maha Metro Rail Board for the Maha Metro passenger service. Delhi Metro | First driverless train of DMRC"s Magenta line derails, crashes into wall even before inauguration

New Delhi: In an unfortunate turn of events, a trial run of a driverless metro train on the DMRC’s Magenta line (Line-8) went off the rails, crashed into and broken the wall of workshop area of Kalindi Kunj depot. A driver less train (UTO) train derailed and crashed in to wall in DMRC’s Kalindi Kunj depot of Magenta Line. The Kalkaji Mandir-Botanical Garden line of the Delhi Metro, which is claimed to be reduced the travel time between Noida and south Delhi, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi  on December 25. RRM (train puller) got damaged and rolled down from the boundary wall of Kalindi Kunj depot. Sources said the incident took place around 5.00 pm during trial run of train in the depot. Nagpur Metro | Maha Metro gets RDSO clearance, needs Railway Board"s approval

Nagpur: In a major milestone for Mahametro, Research Design and Standards Organization (RDSO) has issued speed certificate for at grade section of Nagpur Metro. This certificate will now be sent to Railway Board for approval after which Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) will do the final inspection. Once CMRS clears the section, Mahametro will be able to start commercial operation, which is scheduled in January 2018. RDSO is a Ministry of Railways organization that tests technical aspects of new railway projects. Mahametro had conducted self trial of at grade section and sent the results to the Lucknow-based organization. The certificate was received on Monday. Speed certificate signifies that the Metro track in at grade section is safe for operation. The conclusion was reached on the basis of oscillations recorded by oscillation measurement system (OMS) fitted on a Metro Rail coach during trial run. Lucknow Metro | LMRC gets technical clearance from CMRS

Lucknow: In a major development for the commuters of Lucknow, Commissioner Metro Railway Safety (CMRS), Government of India, on Monday gave the green signal for the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) to start commercial operations. CMRS Satish Kumar Pandey gave his approval to the LMRC after inspecting a trial run of a Metro train at the maximum operating speed of 80 kmph. He, along with senior LMRC officials, carried out the inspection on Monday. The train completed a to-and-fro trial run between Transport Nagar Metro station and Charbagh Metro station. LMRC in a statement said that the trial run was completed successfully on the 8.5 km priority corridor which covers eight stations.
