RITES begins technical feasibility study for expansion of DMRC network to Gurugram Rly Stn

Gurugram: The Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has started a technical feasibility study for the expansion of the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line from Huda City Centre station to Gurugram railway station. Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has authorised RITES to submit a report on the technical aspects of the 12.28km expansion project to meet a long-standing demand of connecting the public transportation system with the old city. RITES officials have visited some of the congested places of the route like Laxman Vihar, sector 4-5, to know the exact ground situation. The purpose to start technical feasibility study of the area to identify any hurdles. According to an official, RITES have been given six months time to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of this route and after preparation the same will be submitted to DMRC and HMRTC. Gurugram Metro | GMDA recommends to connect HUDA City Centre to Dwarka Sector 21 with short route

Gurugram (Gurgaon): After collecting comments on the two routes suggested by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for a new Metro line in Gurgaon, the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has sent its report to the Haryana Mass Rapid Transit Corporation (HMRTC), recommending the longest route connecting the yellow line metro station HUDA City Centre with blue line metro station Dwarka  Sec-21 . The route, conceptualized by the DMRC, was chosen in place of the shorter one connecting the center of the city of HUDA and the Gurgaon train station. “We received many comments, as well as some good suggestions from residents and travelers in Gurgaon, we have compiled them and have forwarded our report to HMRTC, recommending that it be considered the longest route to the new line.”, V Umashankar, Addl. Haryana Metro | State asks for report on Gurugram-Faridabad Metro link

Gurgaon: The  Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has been asked to prepare a feasibility report on a proposed Metro route between Sector 45 in Gurgaon and Bata Chowk in Faridabad via Gwalpahari. The instruction was passed on during a high-level meeting chaired by chief secretary DS Dhesi in Chandigarh on Tuesday, in keeping with chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar’s announcement earlier. During the meeting, another proposed route to connect Rapid Metro’s Section 55-56 station with Dwarka Expressway via SPR also came up for talks. Talking about the proposed Gurgaon-Faridabad route, officials, privy to the minutes of the meeting, said the proposed route would start at Sector 45 in Gurgaon, run along Gurgaon-Faridabad road via Gwalpahari and culminate at Bata Chowk in Faridabad. “Initially, we had thought of connecting the two cities via Tughlakabad .
