Delhi Metro | Metro smart cards can also be use to pay bus fare

New Delhi : Metro commuters will soon be able to pay bus fares using their metro smart card. The common mobility card facility is likely to be made available from Friday to commuters. The announcement was made by State Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot. Gahlot said that from August 24 commuters taking the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and cluster buses will now be able to pay bus fares using metro smart cards. The passenger will be required to give his smart card to conductor while hitching a ride. Once the smart card is swiped, the fare will be deducted from the card of the commuter. According to a Hindustan Times report, the scheme, which was first announced by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal earlier this year. National Common Mobility Card | One card for Metro, Bus, Toll Payment, Parking across the country

New Delhi:   Now, Toll tax and parking charges also included in the facilities of single card payment, which was earlier given for the means of public transport, including Metro rail, local bus, auto taxi etc., in all over the metropolitan cities of India. Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs asked all the agencies to link all the online payment services of toll tax and parking which get included under National Common Mobility Card (NCMC). Union Minister of Housing and Urban Affair  Hardeep Singh Puri in review meeting, asked the concerned authorities to link the card to the payment service as soon as possible. Chennai Metro| Single card by end of the year for Metro-MTC

Chennai: Commuters in Chennai will soon travel with ease if they are using public transport facilities. A single card travel system is likely to be introduced by the end of 2018. Using this card, commuters can hitch a ride in Chennai Metro and then take the MTC bus to reach their destination and vice-versa. If things go well this single smart card can be used for commuting via any public transport in the city. Delhi Metro| Token counters to be closed to encourage smart card at metro stations

New Delhi: In a bid to encourage people to use smart cards or ticket vending machines (TVM), Delhi Metro is planning to close down ticket counters. The counters will be closed at stations where the footfall is less. To promote use of smart card, during Phase III all the upcoming Delhi metro stations will only have TVMs.  Ticket counters and TVMs will be made available on at interchange Delhi Metro stations. Currently the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has closed counters at 118 stations out of 180 stations located in National Capital Region (NCR) and Delhi. In order to make usage of smart card easier, they have installed 520 machines at various stations. Those stations which have over 5,000 commuters on daily basis will have both the facilities – ticket counters as well as TVMs to make travel easier. Delhi Metro | DMRC smart cards becomes common mobility card soon

New Delhi: After years of delay,  common mobility cards  are going to be a reality in Delhi as the first 500 buses having the facility will be rolled out in two weeks from now. The Delhi government has begun procuring chips known as Secure Access Modules (SAMs) from South Korea to ensure cashless transportation in the city. These chips will be fitted in the electronic ticketing machines (ETMs) that have already been handed over to the bus conductors. “The Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) is procuring the first 100 SAM chips from South Korea as they are not available in India. These will be rolled out immediately. We need 2000 more such chips for cluster buses for which tenders have already been floated. The bidder is expected to import the same product for us,” said a transport official.
