Delhi Metro | CISF commandos train to tackle hostage situation inside Metro tunnel

New Delhi: After recent inputs from Central intelligence agencies over the need for securing metro trains inside underground tunnels, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has started a response training program for its quick reaction teams (QRTs). Senior officers said that the training will equip commandos to handle the situation in case a metro coach is highjacked, rescue passengers and neutralize terrorists inside the tunnel. An officer associated with the program said the training which started recently will be completed within three months. The drill is conducted between midnight and 4 am when metro operations for the public are closed, he said. Officials said the paramilitary force is conducting the training at different stations every day so that commandos become familiar with most of the existing tunnels. “There is no cause for alarm for the public. CISF van will helpful from bomb attack in the subway, three special van ready

New Delhi: To protect Delhi Metro from terrorist attacks, CISF has prepared three special vans. The vans are equipped with state-of-the-art equipment used to inactivate the racial attack. It is believed that the van has been deployed after repeated inputs of terror attacks by intelligence units. Security officials says that the van will help in perfecting the safety of the metro. These vans will be sent on the spot to help the security forces during the chemical attack. Bomb disposal and detection squads of Central Industrial Security Force, who took over the security of the Metro, will oversee this van. The specialty of Bomb Disposal and Detection Van is that it will combine the identification of the bomb and the equipment which is inactive. Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh chief minister, Yogi Adityanath has written the letter to the Centre, for the CISF security for the Lucknow Metro. In his written letter he mentions about the Aqua Metro which is soon to be launch, connecting Noida and Greater Noida. Recently the CISF has also conducted a security survey and audit of the residence of the UP CM. Union Home Ministry sources said that the request from the UP government is being processed, and a proposal from CISF on the security infrastructure and the management has already been received, sources said. A senior officer said that the CISF recently carried out a security survey of the Lucknow Metro and the Noida-Greater Noida Metro along with the UP Police, and based on the survey, the proposal has been prepared and sent to the MHA. New Delhi: On 5 July High Court issues the notices to Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for two clubbed PIL.The first petition was filed by Puran Chand Arya which was clubbed by the court with a second PIL which was filed for New Delhi Municipal Council’s contractual sanitation workers who had dumped garbage outside prominent government buildings like the Rail Bhavan and the Shastri Bhavan in Lutyen’s Delhi, demanding regularization of jobs and better wages. On Thursday Bench directed that both the matters should be heard together. A bench of Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Justice C Hari Shankar said referring to such protests that all of them should go to jail because of whom public had suffered a lot. Delhi Metro | High Court of Delhi refuses to hear the metro train strike matter in vacation bench

New Delhi: The case of assault on DMRC station manager and CISF sub-inspector on Dwarka Sector-21 Metro station on May 31 reached the Delhi High Court. After the assault, the Metro staff stopped the Metro train 2 times for more than one hour. Advocate Abhishek Kumar Chaudhary has filed a PIL in this regard, referring to the problems faced by metro commuters and the damage to the Metro Rail authority. In PIL appropriate action appealed against the responsible metro staff after the investigation of the incident. The PIL was file before Satish Kaushik, the registrar general of the High Court of Delhi on Saturday. The case has been fixed for hearing on June 4 before the double bench on the matter. The petitioner says that generally 15 days of CCTV footage of metro stations is kept safe, the Court may direct DMRC to keep it safe. New Delhi: A man’s decomposed body was found inside a highly protected tunnel of the Delhi Metro’s airport line between the New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium stations, bringing to light a possible security breach. Police said it appeared the body had been there for at least four-five months as it was reduced to bones, but they could not explain how it might have got there and the possible cause of death. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) staff noticed the body in the early hours of February 9, when train operations had ended and they were on a routine track inspection, police said. As the officials got close to the passage between two tracks, they encountered a foul smell. Close to the shaft that opened to the ground level, they found the highly decomposed body. “The station controller of the New Delhi Metro station went inside the tunnel for routine maintenance around 1.30am on February 9.
