Delhi Metro | Snag on Magenta Line slows, commuters stuck for over 30 minutes

New Delhi: Commuters in Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line , which connects Janakpuri West with Botanical Garden, were stuck for over 30 minutes on Wednesday evening after a technical snag halted a train at the Shankar Vihar Metro station. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said the train halted due to a signaling issue at Shankar Vihar at 4.35pm. Officials said the train was later pulled out of service and sent for maintenance by 4.55pm. Kanpur, Agra and Meerut to get metro network soon Yogi government sends DPR to Centre

Uttar Pradesh: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the  Detailed Project Report (DPR) of proposed metro rail services in three major cities of Agra , Kanpur , and Meerut had been sent to the Centre for approval. On January 17, the Adityanath cabinet had cleared that the three proposed metro projects totaling about Rs 471 billion. The funds would be raised through share equity, debt, and borrowings from financial institutions. Agra, Kanpur, and Meerut metro rail projects would span investment of Rs 139.36 billion, Rs 183.42 billion and Rs 148.90 billion, respectively. The three metro services are projected to be operational by 2024. Yogi Adityanath said “The government was keen to expand metro services in other cities to add to the existing urban centers of Noida, Lucknow, and Ghaziabad. The state had formed UP Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) to centralize all operational and proposed metro rail services and speed up the projects.”...

Mumbai Metro| Metro 2B line to be used as poll issue by residents

Mumbai: Mumbai residents have decided to on the poll issue they will target the government ahead of 2019 elections. Over 10 lakh residents, a sizable vote bank have come together and have made it clear that they will use Metro 2B line as a poll issue. A meeting was organized on Sunday in which residents from Juhu, Bandra, Santacruz, and Khar assembled at  Jamnabai Narsee School in JVPD. They met to work out a plan involving auto rickshaw and taxi unions as well as Advanced Locality Management (ALMs) and residents’ groups in their movement. The bone of contention is the long-standing demand for an underground Metro 2B line. This will start from DN Nagar in Andheri to Mandela in Mankhurd via Bandra. Residents have made it clear that they will take it up as a key issue during the upcoming 2019 elections. BEST Bus damaged when an Iron mesh of Metro rail falls on it Kandivali

Mumbai: Last week a concrete chunk from metro pillar in Kochi fell on a passing auto rickshaw. On Thursday, iron mesh of Mumbai metro rail network in Mumbai fell on a moving BEST bus. Fortunately, no passenger was hurt with only the bus damaged. The incident took place in Kandivali when an iron mesh part of under-construction pillar fell on BEST Bus. The pillar is erected as part of the ongoing elevated Metro rail work. The iron mesh fell around afternoon when the bus was passing by the area. Thankfully, no passenger was hurt in the accident but the roof of the bus was damaged. This could have lead to a bad accident leading to several casualties. As per the eye witness present at the spot the iron mesh fell down on the roof of Bus number 781. This occurred at Thakur Complex on Western Express Highway at around 12.30 pm on Thursday. Hyperloop is a new form of transportation that moves people quickly and safely. Passengers are loaded into the hyperloop vehicle via electric propulsion through low-pressure tubes.
