Delhi Metro | Snag on Magenta Line slows, commuters stuck for over 30 minutes

New Delhi: Commuters in Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line , which connects Janakpuri West with Botanical Garden, were stuck for over 30 minutes on Wednesday evening after a technical snag halted a train at the Shankar Vihar Metro station. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said the train halted due to a signaling issue at Shankar Vihar at 4.35pm. Officials said the train was later pulled out of service and sent for maintenance by 4.55pm. The problem was reported with one train but it led to bunching and delays on the entire Magenta line “The problem was reported with one train but it led to bunching and delays on the entire Magenta line,” said a DMRC spokesperson. Jaipur Metro | By June-end Jaipur Metro to go driverless, trial completed

Jaipur: India would soon take pride in offering driverless metro rail ride soon. As per the recent news, trails for driverless Jaipur Metro have been completed.  Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) is now waiting for Commissioner of Rail Safety Mumbai to approve of the trail runs. Once JMRC receives the nod of the officials, metro will start automated train operations. Till now it was Japan leading the race by offering driverless metro trains to commuters. With driverless metro becoming operational, India will be part of the countries offering driverless metro rail services. With metro completing three years of completion, JMRC has also concluded the trail runs for the automated metro trains. The benefit of automated trains are many, including reduction of running time by 1 minute, less fuel consumption (approximately 10%) as well we reducing energy requirement. Delhi Metro | DMRC to open first section between Majlis Park & South Campus of Pink line soon

New Delhi: It is good news for Delhities that Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is going to open 20km long section between Majlis Park and South Campus for public. This section is part of Phase-III project in Pink Line (Line-7). Delhi Metro Trial Run on Pink Line Trial is going on different parts of this line from June last year which is now in the final stages. Proposal for safety clearance and inspection of this section will be sent to Metro Rail Safety Commissioner (CMRS) soon by DMRC. With the opening of the section, Metro Train will run first time on the highest of 23.6 meters height near Dhaula Kuan. This height is equal to about seven story building. This will be the second line on which the driverless Metro will start operations. There will be a total of 12 stations on this section namely Majlis Park, Azadpur, Shalimar Bagh, Netaji Subhash Place, Shakurpur, Punjabi Bagh West, ESI Hospital, Rajauri Garden, Mayapuri, Naraina Vihar, Delhi Cantt, and Durgabai Deshmukh South Camp...
