Hyperloop | Mumbai to build vacuum tube infrastructure from December

Mumbai:  Settle into a pod in a vacuum tube, fasten your seat belt and whizz across to Pune from Mumbai in 20 minutes. Devendra Fadnavis , Maharashtra’s chief minister, believes the regular inter-city traveler will be able to do and afford this by 2024. By the end of 2018, construction is set to begin on a 15-km test track for the Mumbai-Pune hyperloop. For the uninitiated, the Hyperloop is a still-untested high-speed mass transportation concept floated by American entrepreneur and innovator Elon Musk. It involves building a near-perfect vacuum tunnel or tube, a railway track and a vehicle that floats above the track using magnetic levitation. Cargo and—if all goes well—passengers can then be loaded into this vehicle, which accelerates through electric propulsion and picks up speed due to extremely low friction in a vacuum. Hyperloop one | Passenger trial track expected to be ready in next year

Pune: The first phase of the 15-km Hyperloop  one track in Pune, from Balewadi to Gahunje will serve as the trial track for passenger moment test. Kiran Gitte, the commissioner of the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) , said: “a transactional advisor will be appointed within a fortnight and the track will be appointed within a fortnight and the track will be ready by next year.” The advisor company would need to have prior experience in handline high-speed transport, as the PMRDA itself does not have the adequate know-how on the subject. The chosen firm have the adequate know-how on the subject. The chosen firm would be required help with project structuring, finances as well as engaging in other parameters. It must also work closely with the Virgin Hyperloop team.
