New Delhi: We got another news today about serious misbehave with on duty Delhi Metro employee which questioned on Delhi Metro Authority about non sincere in security and safety of its employees. Shambhu Gupta, who has been posted at Dwarka Sector-21 Metro Station as a Station Manager to take care of metro station, has caught some CISF security guards indulging in misuse of vehicle parking at Dwarka Sector-21 Metro Station. He warned them to refrain themselves from such illegal activity which are not in interest of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). Despite of following his instructions the CISF personnel has started misbehaving with him and beaten him badly. Mumbai Metro | MMRDA plans to link Thane, Bhiwandi and Kalyan with metro rail system

Mumbai: Study conducted by Italian agency for preparing techno-economic feasibility in connection with Mumbai metro corridors – connecting Thane-Bhiwandi-Kalyan – the consulting firms states that there is going to be a huge ridership demand. This stretch is expected to have huge demand by 2021. The consultants were appointed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). The techno-feasibility report by D’Appolonia SpA , the Italian company has been submitted to MMRDA and the outcome clearly states that for ridership demand is going to be very heavy in coming years. Jaipur: India would soon take pride in offering driverless metro rail ride soon. As per the recent news, trails for driverless Jaipur Metro have been completed.  Jaipur Metro Rail Corporation (JMRC) is now waiting for Commissioner of Rail Safety Mumbai to approve of the trail runs. Once JMRC receives the nod of the officials, metro will start automated train operations. Till now it was Japan leading the race by offering driverless metro trains to commuters. With driverless metro becoming operational, India will be part of the countries offering driverless metro rail services. With metro completing three years of completion, JMRC has also concluded the trail runs for the automated metro trains. New Delhi: After opening of Delhi-Meerut Express Way and Eastern Peripheral Expressway, the Government plans to start construction work of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS Corridor . The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has started work on this project, so that it can be opened in the scheduled time in the year 2024 to facilitate passengers. Delhi Metro | DMRC opens 25 km long Kalkaji Mandir-Janakpuri West section of Magenta Line

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) achieved the another milestone today.  Magenta Line ( Kalkaji Mandir-Janakpuri West ) of Delhi Metro inaugurated by Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri. Magenta Line Route Map The metro commuters will be able to enjoy the journey on train from May 29 (Tuesday) morning at 6.00am onward. With the start of the Magenta Line, residents of Delhi, Haryana (Gurugram, Faridabad, Palwal), and UP (Ghaziabad and Noida) will benefit from the start of the section. The special thing is that due to the introduction of this line, the travel period between Noida and Gurugram will be reduced by at least 30 minutes. Kochi Metro | Commuters might make airline check-in via metro train

Kochi: Good news seems to be underway for passengers who are flying out of Kochi International airport via Kochi Metro stations. There are plans to offer check-in facility via Kochi Metro. This possibility is being explored by Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL) as well as state government, CIAL and several stakeholders. The officials are looking at offering facility of airline check-in as and baggage drop points at specific metro stations for those passengers who need to fly out via Kochi International airport. KR Jyothilal, Transport secretary had recently shared that check-in facilities might be initiated from JLN Station. This project will be part of the efforts to combine Kochi Metro with the airport. Kochi Metro | Tender floated by Kochi Metro for water metro project

Kochi: After initial hiccups, Kochi Metro Rail Limited (KMRL)’s ambitious project of starting water metro is finally gaining momentum. KMRL has floated tender for the construction of the vessels. The project is initiated to connect Greater Kochi region with the mainland and the estimated cost is around ₹747-crore. In the first phase fleet of 36 boats will be started as part of Water Metro project by KMRL. To kick start the project, the Kochi Metro officials have floated tenders inviting interested parties for construction of boats for the metro. The officials have also kept a provision of 19 additional boats in order to meet the demand once the water metro project is operational. German funding agency KfW has given approval and is funding the metro project. They have also secured the tender process, giving further push to the project. New Delhi: Chennai commuters are going to rejoice with the two new major section of Chennai to be open for public. With opening of Chennai Central Metro Station, commuters can take one single train to airport to railway to bus station. Delhi Metro| Token counters to be closed to encourage smart card at metro stations

New Delhi: In a bid to encourage people to use smart cards or ticket vending machines (TVM), Delhi Metro is planning to close down ticket counters. The counters will be closed at stations where the footfall is less. To promote use of smart card, during Phase III all the upcoming Delhi metro stations will only have TVMs.  Ticket counters and TVMs will be made available on at interchange Delhi Metro stations. Currently the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has closed counters at 118 stations out of 180 stations located in National Capital Region (NCR) and Delhi. In order to make usage of smart card easier, they have installed 520 machines at various stations. Those stations which have over 5,000 commuters on daily basis will have both the facilities – ticket counters as well as TVMs to make travel easier. New Delhi: L&T Construction (a subsidiary  of L&T Group of companies) has secured a contract of Rs 3,191 crore for the construction of a railway line of Dhaka Metro. The company gave this information today. The joint venture of L&T Construction and Japan’s Marubani Corporation got this contract in the international bidding process. The company told the Bombay Stock Exchange that L&T Construction got a contract of Rs 3,191 crore for the electrical and mechanical system package of Dhaka Mass Rapid Transit Development Project (MRT-Line 6). They got this contract from the Dhaka Mass Transit Company (DMTC) which includes construction and design of Line-6, first metro route of the the mass rapid transit system in Bangladesh. UP Govt approves DPR of Kanpur, Agra and Meerut Metro Rail projects

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is very serious about the proposed Metro projects in Uttar Pradesh. According to officials of the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC), the approval of the Detail Project Report (DPR) of the Metro rail projects in Kanupar , Meerut and Agra has been received by the Deputy Government. After this the DPR has now been sent to the Central Government for approval. Hopefully this will soon be passed in the central Government cabinet too. LMRC Managing Director Kumar Keshav informed about this in a special interaction with Media. He said, the UP government has approved the DPR prepared for the metro rail projects in Kanpur , Meerut and Agra cities. This proposal has now been sent to the center. Bahadurgarh: There is good news for people waiting for the Metro train to reach Bahadurgarh. If the trial is okay, then they will have to wait longer for only 30 days. After this, the Metro train will start run for 2 lakh people of Bahadurgarh. For this, Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) will conduct a final inspection of the Metro corridor on May 30 for important investigations before opening of Mundka-Bahadurgarh Metro corridor. On Tuesday, the a team the Delhi metro officers came to Bahadurgarh to investigate the preparation. During this period, minor investigation of 11.182 kilometer long elevated section track, signal, station, safety from Mundka to Bahadurgarh were also done. DMRC writes letter for taking Safety Clearance Certificate Only after satisfying the safety arrangements, the officials issue safety certificates, then the metro station will be opened for the public. Ghaziabad: There is continuous hindrance to complete metro rail construction work from Noida Sector-62 to Sahibabad and Vaishali to Mohan Nagar due to the fund issue in the proposed metro route. Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) has asked DMRC to prepare a model of funding on the pattern of SPV (Special Purpose Vehicle). Under this, Ghaziabad Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) is set to be set up in line with Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) and Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC). On Tuesday, it was discussed in a meeting with DMRC regarding the funding pattern of Metro rail projects under the leadership of GDA Vice Chairperson Ritu Maheshwari. DMRC is directed to submit their report on this till Thursday. On May 25, a decision will be taken in the meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Rajiv Kumar.
