Kolkata Metro | East-West metro rake completes trial run

Kolkata: A trial run on 3km stretch between Central Park and Sector V was conducted on Wednesday on East-West metro. In October the lines that connect Sector V with a salt lake stadium is expected to be open. This line will be opened 34 years after another metro’s in Kolkata . India’s first metro that was open for thrown public in October 1984. On Wednesday, the people were on their rooftops to catch the event on their phones. People were standing at the top of Bikash Bhavan, HSBC building. From inside the metro, one could see all the people. Sreedharan says only elite class will travel in high speed bullet train

New Delhi: The civil engineer Elattuvapil Sreedharan , also known as the metro man of India stated that as compared to some advanced nations Indian railways is 20 years behind, he says that India needs a safe, clean, fast and modern railway systems. Ahmedabad Metro | Siemens bags electrification contract Gujarat Metro Link Express

Ahmedabad: Metro Link for Gandhinagar and Ahmadabad (MEGA) today announced that Siemens will implement the electrification of metro rail project. The MEGA Metro Authority has granted a contract order of approximately Rs. 579 crore (76.04 million euros) for the consortium of Siemens Limited India and Siemens AG, Germany, for the electrification of the 39.2 kilometer Metro Express Link in Ahmedabad. Ahmedabad: Siemens will implement the electrification of Gujarat Metro Link Express, it was announced today. The Indian mass transit operator Metro Link Express for Gandhinagar and Ahmedabad (MEGA) Company Limited has granted an order of approximately Rs. 579 crore (76.04 million euros) for the consortium of Siemens Limited India and Siemens AG, Germany, for the electrification of the 39.2 kilometer Metro Express Link in Ahmedabad, according to a statement issued on Monday. The line, currently under construction, will be executed in the city of Ahmedabad in two corridors. Siemens will be responsible for the complete electrification of the new double-track Metro line.
