Varanasi: The ambitious Kashi Project that was given a go ahead by the Akhilesh Yadav government has been rejected by the Varanasi Development Authority (VDA). Patna Metro Rail Project likely to get Center"s nod by July

Patna: Work on Patna Metro Rail Project will soon gain momentum with central government likely to give green signal to the project by end of July 2018. The Bihar Government has completed work on preparing detailed project report (DPR) . This will soon be handed over to the Union Urban Ministry by June 15. This news was shared by Suresh Kumar Sharma, state minister for housing and urban development with the media on Friday. Once the centre government gives its approval, work on Patna Metro Rail project will begin. As part of the plan in the first phase priority will be given for development, north-south corridor. Work will begin from Patna Junction to planned interstate bus terminal (ISBT) at Ramachak Bairiya through NIT-Patna and Rajendra Nagar Terminal. Kolkata Metro | BT Road Metro route likely to be scrapped by Govt

Kolkata: The much talked about Barrackpore Metro link that was scheduled to laid through BT Road and a stretch be built underground might now be taken through Kalyani Expressway. This moves comes after the engineering consultancy RITES submitted its report to state government. Barrackpore City In its report RITES has reported that is it possible to divert the Baranagar-Barrackpore route for metro rail project. The experts in the reports have suggested that between Noapara and Kalyani Expressway the tracks can pass underground for about 2km, which is a congested residential area. Building tracks on ground would mean razing the residential properties falling on the proposed stretch. As per the proposal the underground stretch can be construction between Noapara and Nimta, informed officials. Gurugram: The Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) has started a technical feasibility study for the expansion of the Delhi Metro’s Yellow Line from Huda City Centre station to Gurugram railway station. Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation (HMRTC) has authorised RITES to submit a report on the technical aspects of the 12.28km expansion project to meet a long-standing demand of connecting the public transportation system with the old city. RITES officials have visited some of the congested places of the route like Laxman Vihar, sector 4-5, to know the exact ground situation. The purpose to start technical feasibility study of the area to identify any hurdles. According to an official, RITES have been given six months time to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) of this route and after preparation the same will be submitted to DMRC and HMRTC. Gurugram: The Haryana government has asked RITES to prepare detailed project report (DPR) for the nearly 12- km-long Metro rail route between the Huda City Centre (HCC) Metro station to Gurgaon railway station. The project is part of the Metro expansion plan in Gurgaon . The agency is expected to submit the report within six months, state government officials privy to the project details said on Wednesday. The metro route is planned to cater to the commuting needs of old Gurgaon residents whose demand for Metro connectivity is pending for years. According to VDA Secretary Vishal Singh, “The Varanasi Development Authority (VDA) has recently paid Rs 81 lakhs to RITES for preparing the feasibility report of Metro rail service proposed in the city . While preparing this feasibility, RITES will also explore the possibility of introduction of cable cars for MRTS in densely populated areas with the help of an Austria-based company, which is global leader in ropeway technology. Navi Mumbai: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is in the final stages of preparing the detailed project report (DPR) for the metro corridor providing direct connectivity from Chatrapati Shivaji Airport terminus (Santa Cruz airport) to the Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), Navi Mumbai— the twin city airport, a first in the country. CIDCO said, “as per our information, the DPR is in final stages. The CSTM-Panvel fast track corridor that will run like a metro has been delayed, but it will be taken up at some time. So, in the meantime, the metro connectivity between the two airports is very much required for providing transportation facilities to flyers.” A CIDCO official told media, ” the direct connectivity or a continuous corridor between two city airports will be the first of its kind in India. Agra Metro | No groundwork after DPR, project seems to be on a slow track

AGRA: While Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Union home minister Rajnath Singh, on Tuesday, jointly flagged off an 8.5 km stretch of the first Metro train in Lucknow , work on the much-awaited  Agra Metro  seems to be on a slow track. No groundwork has been done after a detailed project report (DRP) was submitted to the Agra Development Authority (ADA) last year by the engineering consultancy firm Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) . The DPR had subsequently underwent technical changes and approved by the state government. The 30-km long Metro rail project, proposed during the Samajwadi Party (SP) regime, was to be developed in two phases. The former UP government had planned Metro infrastructure in Lucknow, Agra, Varanasi and Kanpur. According to the DPR, three-coach trains will make 136 trips per day (in a single direction) on Corridor One, from Sikandra (Akbar"s tomb) to Taj Mahal via Agra Fort, and 160 trips...
