Mumbai Metro III | Bombay High Court allows night-time construction

Mumbai: The Bombay High Court has said the construction work of  Mumbai Metro III can be done at night. Mumbai Metro III project’s construction that was stayed by the court for almost a year is finally set to resume. The year-long stay had cost the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) an estimate of Rs 6,100 crore. After hearing the petition, Chief Justice Naresh Patil said, "We allow the MMRCL to carry out work even during the night hours, i.e. from 10 pm to 6 am." Mumbai Metro | Bombay HC directs MMRC to keep utmost care of transplanted trees

Mumbai : The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) got orders from the Hon"ble Bombay High Court to cut trees for the Metro line 3 but the Supreme court also taking care of the matter of transplanting trees to somewhere else. MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) had clarified the number of trees cut during the construction and the number of trees transplanted. For the better future trees are very important and it is important to conserve them. The judicial committee stated that MMRCL should take responsibility of trees. The high court of Mumbai appointed senior judges to lead the committee and take the matter more seriously and sort the grievances related to cutting down of trees. Mumbai Metro | RTI says MMRC does not have it"s own quality control laboratory

Mumbai : The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. , which is responsible for constructing Mumbai Metro 3 has admitted on its own that it lack for facilitating well-equipped laboratories. this replies in the context of Right to Information query to Anil Galgali. “The literature and checks required for the project are being outsourced, through General Consultants for the Mumbai Metro 3 project.” Said by Galgali. He also said that the application was to learn more, about the independent facilities that MMRCL has in-house for quality control which is done in their own laboratory. The Galgali was briefed by the public information officer and advisor Shrinivas Nandirgirkar of MMRCL that “The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd doesn’t have its own independent facilities like a laboratory for the purpose of quality control. Pune Metro | MMRCL proposes extension of Metro project to Nigdi & Katraj in first phase

Pune: The Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation  (MMRCL) has proposed extending the Pimpri-Swargate Metro route to Nigdi and Katraj in the first phase. Work is underway to create a detailed project report (DPR) for the two extensions. Various social organizations and political parties have demanded that the route be extended. As a result, the Municipal Corporation of Pune (PMC) and the Municipal Corporation Pimpri Chinchwad (PCMC) wrote to MMRCL seeking a DPR. “Our consultants have already started working on the creation of the DPR, they will have to carry out a survey of the topographic, geotechnical and traffic conditions, as well as an environmental and social impact analysis. we have to study the signaling work and the rolling stock. Pune Metro | HCC has awarded a contract of ₹ 484 crore for Pune Metro Rail Project

Pune Metro: Hindustan Construction Company Ltd. (HCC) has received a contract of ₹ 484 million from Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. (MMRCL) for the Pune Metro Rail Project. HCC is the main partner with a 51% stake in the joint venture with AL FARA’A. The contract is for the construction of eight elevated metro stations in Vanaz, Anand Nagar, Ideal Colony, Nal Stop, Garware College, Deccan, Sambhaji Park and PMC in Line II of the project, according to a company statement. The work includes general and structural civil works of the buildings of the station, and the architectural and site development. It is expected to be finished by 2019-final. Line II of 14.66 km will be completely elevated and will have 16 stations. This is the second order that HCC received from MMRCL for the Pune Metro.
