Hyderabad Metro | L&T to invest about Rs 2,500 crore more to complete metro

Hyderabad: Construction and infrastructure major L&T hinted at investing about Rs 2500 crore more to complete the ongoing Hyderabad metro rail project. As a concessionaire, L&T has thus far invested about Rs 13,000 crore of the Rs 14,132 crore elevated metro rail project taken up under the public, private partnership. And the Telangana Government has invested more than Rs 2300 crore for land acquisition, right of way and related infrastructure to facilitate the project completion. Of the 72 km elevated metro rail, thus far a stretch of 45 km spanning two corridors has been completed, and the stretch connecting the Hitec City, the IT hub of Hyderabad, is at the advanced stage of completion. Hyderabad Metro | The largest PPP metro project, achieve a big success

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro Rail Ltd (HMRL) , touted as the largest Metro project in the world to be implemented in the public-private partnership (PPP) mode, has put to rest questions about its viability, clocking a daily ridership of two lakh per day, as against estimates of 60,000 passengers a day. The city’s response to the mass transit system has also raised the likelihood of the project breaking even in the next six-seven years. The L&T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) Ltd (L&TMRHL) , the concessionaire for Phase I of the project, expects to complete 66 km of the total 72-km elevated network by mid-2019 – there is some uncertainty at present about the leftover stretch, with talk doing the rounds that the Telangana government would like to execute it in place of the concessionaire. Hyderabad Metro | CEIG inspects 33kV/415V substations at 4 Metro stations

Hyderabad: On 27 th September Thursday L& T Metro Rail (Hyderabad) announced that the Chief Electrical Inspector to Government of India (CEIG) for Hyderabad Metro Rail Project D.V.S. Raju has inspected 33kV/415V indoor substations installed in four stations from Peddamma Temple to Hitech City. These stations are part of Corridor-III (Ameerpet to Hitec City stretch) of the Hyderabad Metro Rail Project. This inspection is a kind of formality to process according sanction for energisation of stations which will facilitate the testing and commissioning activities of railway systems like signalling, telecommunication and automatic fare collection in this section. Hyderabad Metro | HMRL changing the location of four pillars on the route

Hyderabad:  Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) is changing the location of four pillars on the route in order to ensure sufficient carriageway for traffic movement and also to avoid Metro pillars in the middle of the road between Cyber Towers and Shilparamam flyover. According to the original plan, the pillars were to be constructed in the middle of the road, which would permanently reduce space on the already narrow carriageway between Cyber Towers and Shilparamam flyover. Now the pillars are being shifted adjacent to the flyover and they are being accommodated in the central median of the flyover. To this effect, the ramp portion of the flyover is being widened through an engineering solution of strengthening and rebuilding the sidewalls of the ramp of the flyover. Hyderabad:   On 11 August, 2018 Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) conducted “Smart mobility start-up festival” at Hyderabad Metro Rail Bhavan.  HMRL with World Resources Institute (WRI) of India, Toyota Mobility Foundation (TMF) and L&TMRHL conducted this festival. This is a culmination day of the Station Access and Mobility Program (STAMP) challenge approximate of 85 interesting products / solutions received from young entrepreneurs. Hyderabad: There is very good news for Hyderabad Metro commuters now they can ride a bike on rent from Miyapur Metro Station. At Miyapur station with 20 bikes, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited and Wickedride.com, a private company launched the bike rental scheme. With very affordable price commuters have to pay just Rs 4 per km as charges for riding the bike and there are no waiting charges. Users need not to be worry about fuel as the company provides the fuel and the fares will be calculated as per the Odometer reading on the bikes. These vehicles will provides both gears and gear-less facility for the convenience of people. The main focus is to reach to the last mile connectivity to Metro passengers. Hyderabad: In a recent metro rail project review meeting, Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao instructed the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) to start work on the six km Metro stretch in the Old City. Rao directed HMRL to explore the possibility of state government taking it up on its own with external funds, if project concessionaire L&T does not show interest due to land acquisition and viability issues. The Old City route falls under Corridor II of the Hyderabad Metro Rail project that stretches from Jubilee Bus Station to Falaknuma. The alignment was opposed in 2013 by MIM which suggested changes in route alignment due to about 1,100 properties are likely to be affected in the route. The new alignment route was from the Musi river, high court, City College, Hussaini Alam, Kalapathar and Bahadurpura. Hyderabad: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has been tasked with preparing the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the expansion plan for Phase II of the Hyderabad metro rail project. “Following the instructions the Metro Rail Phase II expansion exercise will begin immediately, the preparatory work of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) was entrusted to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC),” Hyderabad Metro Rail  Ltd ( HMRL). Hyderabad: One month after its launch, the Hyderabad Metro Rail project is still stabilizing in its first phase of operation, but the administration is already preparing funds for further development. The administration is near an agreement with the German development bank KfW for a loan of Rs 1,000 crore for urban rejuvenation along with the rail metro project. “We are in talks with the German Development Bank KfW to raise around Rs. 1,000 crore for the urban rejuvenation project, without a high interest burden, say less than 2%, and a long repayment period.”, NVS Reddy said. Hyderabad: A rapid mass transit system (MRTS) can be on the cards for Hyderabad with a government agency launching the process of identifying a project consultant for the MRTS Corridor connecting Minotaur, Shilaparamam and Gachibowli. Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao on Monday informed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to launch the Hyderabad Metro Rail on November 28. The final confirmation is awaited from the Prime Minister’s Office . However, with the Prime Minister’s confirmed visit to the city on November 28 for the Global Entrepreneurship Summit, the Metro Rail could also be inaugurated on the same day. Previously, KTR said that feeder services connecting residential colonies to the Metro Rail stations will include both electric vehicles and conventional buses that will be operated to cover a distance of three to four kilometres from the stations.
