Monorail | Recent incident awake operator on emergency alert

Mumbai: On September 2, the issue arises with the Monorail services came to a standstill due to cable infringement leaving 60 passengers stranded on the train. Then the Monorail operator has written to Mumbai Police and Mumbai Fire Brigade seeking their assistance and cooperation, in case of an emergency or accident. Later the operator has also written to hospitals along the Chembur-Wadala route for cooperation, in case of a medical emergency. Due to this incident the passengers stranded for almost one hour and services being a delay for three hours. This is not first in fact ever since Chembur-Wadala Monorail services started in February 2014, there has been a number of times a constant breakdown arises with passengers getting stranded inside due to various technical glitches. Monorail | MMRDA and LTSE trip rate tussle soon going to resolve

Mumbai:   Good news for all the employees of Larsen & Toubro-Scomi Engineering (LTSE). Since long-lasting deadlock between the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) and its monorail contractor a consortium of Larsen & Toubro-Scomi Engineering (LTSE) for trip rates is likely to be resolved soon as per official information. In last week MMRDA"s one-member committee submitted its report. Mr. Rajeev Metropolitan Commissioner said that the report has been submitted and now we hope that LTSE will accept its recommendations. It has suggested increasing the trip rate. We will disclose the figure only after they agree to it. Mumbai Monorail | LTSE demands more than five times trip rate to operate Phase-I

Mumbai: Monorail which comes under Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) . Now contractors of this are demanding higher trip rate for resuming the services on Phase I. Now the consortium of Larsen & Toubro-Scomi Engineering (LTSE) are demanding more than five times the earlier trip rate to run the country’s only monorail corridor between Chembur and Wadala. Already the LTSE has demanded Rs 18,000 per trip in order to operate Phase I of the monorail corridor. The Metropolitan Commissioner R A Rajeev said that we have not yet decided and are holding meetings with them. Uncertainty looms on running Mumbai Monorail despite of more coaches

Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) will get more coaches for the city transit project. But it is uncertain as to when the Mumbai Monorail will be made operational. MMRDA has already received six coaches out of 10 from LTSE - a consortium of Larsen & Toubro and Scomi Engineering.  The officials are pinning the delay on contractors who have not been able to deliver the spare parts. MMRDA will receive two more coaches by December and by February the other two coaches too be delivered, informed the MMRDA official. The authority added the postponement is due to contractor’s inability to organize spare parts for the monorail on time. The first phase of Mumbai Monorail was closed last year after fire broke out in November. Since then MMRDA has not started the operations. Mumbai: Last year the monorail services from Chembur-Wadala was shut but now it’s expected to start by the end of this year. The monorail will provide the Mumbai citizens an ease and one more option to commute it’s the second phase from Wadala to Mahalaxmi it’s the most awaited project information continue to remain work in progress. Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) procured 10 trains so far, only four to five rakes were in use till the entire operation was stopped following a fire in November 2017.
