Delhi Metro | Labour Commissioner calls conciliation proceedings to resolve ongoing dispute in DMRC

New Delhi: The dispute between Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and its Employees not yet resolved and the strike is continuing since last 10 days with an ultimatum to stop metro services on 30 June in entire Delhi and NCR. Despite resolving the long pending issue raised by Metro employees. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Management has approached the regional level commissioner to start conciliation proceedings on the issue. In response to the communication made by DMRC and intimation ( 15 days advance notice) given by the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Employees Union (DMRCEU), the Regional Labour Commissioner issued a notice to all parties i.e. the Managing Director of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation,  General Secretary of DMRC Employees Union and the Secretary of Staff Council and directed all the parties to join conciliation proceeding before the office of the Regional Labour Commissioner at 12.00 hours today. Delhi Metro | High Court of Delhi refuses to hear the metro train strike matter in vacation bench

New Delhi: The case of assault on DMRC station manager and CISF sub-inspector on Dwarka Sector-21 Metro station on May 31 reached the Delhi High Court. After the assault, the Metro staff stopped the Metro train 2 times for more than one hour. Advocate Abhishek Kumar Chaudhary has filed a PIL in this regard, referring to the problems faced by metro commuters and the damage to the Metro Rail authority. In PIL appropriate action appealed against the responsible metro staff after the investigation of the incident. The PIL was file before Satish Kaushik, the registrar general of the High Court of Delhi on Saturday. The case has been fixed for hearing on June 4 before the double bench on the matter. The petitioner says that generally 15 days of CCTV footage of metro stations is kept safe, the Court may direct DMRC to keep it safe. Delhi Metro | DMRC staff demands rectification of pending issues, threatens strike from Monday

Highlights DMRC’s non-executive staff will start protesting from Monday, demanding a resolution of pending issues submitted by them to management. They will start protest by wearing black arm bands and participating in sit-ins at different stations as well as their work stations. They have, however, threatened to go on a complete shutdown of services on November 1, 2017, if their demands are not met.
