New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is going to open remaining section of Magenta Line (Line-8) between Kalkaji Mandir – Janakpuri West for public on 24th May 2018. This route will connect commuters to IGI Airport Terminal-1 via Terminal 1-IGI Airport station also. Some special features of IGI Airport T-1 Metro Station- About 66000 people likely to use/visit daily the IGI Airport T-1 Metro Station on Magenta Line At present 1.8 Lakh daily footfall at IGI Airport Terminal-1 This underground station will connect IGI Airport Terminal-1 to West and South Delhi 146 meter long and 4 meter wide pathway will connect the metro station to Terminal-1 (Arrival). Commuter will need around 6 minutes to travel the distance 160 meter long and 3 meter wide pathway will connect the metro station to Terminal-1 (Departure). Delhi Metro | DMRC"s Janakpuri West Metro station will get India"s longest escalator

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which has made a significant contribution in facilitating people to travel in Delhi, has made a new record. Actually, Delhi Metro has installed India’s longest escalator ever. This escalator is installed at the Janakpuri West Metro station of Magenta Line. So far, the Escalator located at Terminal 2 of Mumbai Airport is the longest in India, with a length of 11.6 meters. At the same time the length of the Escalator at Janakpri West Metro station is 15.6 meters. According to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation spokesperson, its height is as much as a 5-story building. With the opening of new section between Kalkaji Mandir Metro and Janakpuri West , this escalator will start functioning. Delhi Metro | DMRC starts test runs on Pink Line between I.P. Extension and Maujpur

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today started test runs on the 10.47 kms stretch between the I.P. Extension and Maujpur elevated section of the upcoming 59 kms long Majlis Park – Shiv Vihar corridor (Line 7) of Phase-III, also known as the Pink Line. The Test Runs were flagged off by DMRC Chief Mangu Singh. According to press release, during these test runs, the interface of the Metro train will be checked to ensure that there is no physical infringement with civil infrastructure during the movement of the train on the track and also testing of various subsystems of coaches shall be done. The new signaling technology known as Communication Based Train Control (CBTC) will be implemented on this corridor and will undergo rigorous testing in stages. The response of the train at different speeds, braking of the train and the interconnection with the Operations Control Centre (OCC) will also be monitored during the trials.
