Indian Railways want to expand bullet train to four metro cities

New Delhi: Indian Railways is all set to make travelling faster, sleeker and a lot better. They now plan to set up high-speed rail network across four metro cities – Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata. The government too has earmarked routes to initiate feasibility studies for the Bullet Train project. The objective is to connect all the four major metro cities in the country. Government has already started working on ground level. They have identified routes and will feasibility studies have been initiated. Minister of State of Railways, Rajen Gohain in a written reply to a question asked in Lok Sabha had listed main routes connecting four metro cities. He also shared that feasibility studies have been taken up for the same. RRTS Project | UP becomes first state in India to have rapid rail system

Lucknow: Looks like good news is finally coming for Uttar Pradesh. The state will become the first state in India to have a rapid rail system. It will receive the rail system during the first implementation of RRTS. As per sources, work on country’s first rapid rail is also on track. The rapid rail first corridor network will connect Delhi and Meerut. The central government is likely to give its nod, ahead of 2019 election. In a meeting chaired by UP Chief Secretary in Lucknow, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) team presented the plan. Experts from UP’s Metro Rail Corporation as well as other officers were also part of the meeting. Work on constructing the first Delhi-Meerut corridor has begun. Ahmedabad Metro | Siemens bags electrification contract Gujarat Metro Link Express

Ahmedabad: Metro Link for Gandhinagar and Ahmadabad (MEGA) today announced that Siemens will implement the electrification of metro rail project. The MEGA Metro Authority has granted a contract order of approximately Rs. 579 crore (76.04 million euros) for the consortium of Siemens Limited India and Siemens AG, Germany, for the electrification of the 39.2 kilometer Metro Express Link in Ahmedabad.
