Delhi Metro | DMRC completes metro trial run on Pink Line stretch (Line-7)

New Delhi: The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) completed the trials and testing of the 20.6 kilometre long Majlis Park- Durgabhai Deshmukh South Campus section of its Pink Line (Phase 3) on Monday. The route has also received most of the important and mandatory clearance required for the next step of inviting the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) to inspect the section, including fire safety, license for working lifts, preliminary Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) reports for signalling and platform screen doors, from the department of telecommunications. According to press release, “The papers for scrutiny and detailed examination by CMRS are under submission to his office and after these are cross checked, examined and scrutinised in depth by the office of CMRS, further action is expected. In addition, since the application involves voluminous data of civil, electrical, signalling and track, DMRC may also have to supply any additional information further sought by...

Delhi Metro | PM Modi inaugurates new metro link between Noida and Delhi

Noida: The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, today inaugurated a new metro link between Noida and Delhi. He unveiled a plaque at Botanical Garden Metro Station, to mark the inauguration of a portion of the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro, connecting Botanical Garden in Noida with Kalkaji Mandir in South Delhi. He also travelled briefly on the metro train, before arriving at the venue for the public meeting. PM Naredra Modi unveiling a plaque at Botanical Garden Metro Station to mark the inauguration of a portion of the Magenta Line of the Delhi Metro Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister conveyed greetings on the occasion of Christmas. New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today take a ride on Delhi Metro’s new Magenta Line connecting the capital with neighbouring Noida for the first time. A 12.6-km section of the line connects south Delhi’s Kalkaji and Noida’s Botanical Garden. PM Modi, in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath , will flag off the new metro from Noida and travel to the Okhla Bird Sanctuary station. The launch has been shadowed by sparring over Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal not being invited. Delhi Metro | DMRC suspends four officials, found responsible for driverless metro crash

New Delhi: In connection with incident of Delhi Metro’s driverless train in Kalindikunj depot on December 19, DMRC Chief Dr. Mangu Singh approved orders for suspension of four officials connected held primarily responsible for the unexpected incident causing damage to metro property including a train, a shunter and workshop building infrastructure. The four officials included one Deputy General Manager who was the In-charge of Kalindi Kunj depot, one Assistant Manager under him responsible for the depot activities and a Junior Engineer and Assistant Section Engineer who were involved in operating that train. The suspension is based on the enquiry done by a team of three Executive Director rank officers. Delhi Metro | First driverless train of DMRC"s Magenta line derails, crashes into wall even before inauguration

New Delhi: In an unfortunate turn of events, a trial run of a driverless metro train on the DMRC’s Magenta line (Line-8) went off the rails, crashed into and broken the wall of workshop area of Kalindi Kunj depot. A driver less train (UTO) train derailed and crashed in to wall in DMRC’s Kalindi Kunj depot of Magenta Line. The Kalkaji Mandir-Botanical Garden line of the Delhi Metro, which is claimed to be reduced the travel time between Noida and south Delhi, will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi  on December 25. RRM (train puller) got damaged and rolled down from the boundary wall of Kalindi Kunj depot. Sources said the incident took place around 5.00 pm during trial run of train in the depot.
