High Speed Rail | BEML awaiting for clarity on indigenization of Bullet train.
Bengaluru : Bharat Earth Movers Limited (BEML) is waiting clarity on the indigenization of the proposed Ahmedabad-Mumbai bullet train. Indigenization of coaches comes under the Central government’s ‘Make in India’ program. At initial stage assemble of the coaches for the bullet train project will be done. At later stage local production will be looked by state-owned company. BEML Chairman and Managing Director D K Hota said, “We are keen in the indigenization of bullet train coaches. BEML had tied up with Japanese company Hitachi in this regard. There is nothing final yet on the quantum of the indigenization project or total order for the coaches." On yesterday he was in the city to sign a MoU with Heavy Engineering Corporation Ltd for cooperation in manufacturing of high-value mining equipment.
