High speed rail to soon link Meerut, Alwar with IGI

New Delhi:  People from Meerut, Panipat, and Alwar will soon be able to reach Delhi airport in less than 90  minutes.Rail-based high-speed commuter service, on the lines of Crossrail of London and RER of Paris, is being developed to connect regional nodes of NCR with the Aerocity at IGI Airport. The Centre government, along with the governments of Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and Rajasthan, are part of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC), which is the executing agency for the two other links — the Delhi-Panipat and the Delhi-Alwar corridors. It will have Sarai Kale Khan as their interoperable hub. An interoperable hub will provide facility to passengers to travel hassle free and a passenger can commute from one state to another without changing any train. Kanpur, Agra and Meerut to get metro network soon Yogi government sends DPR to Centre

Uttar Pradesh: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday said the  Detailed Project Report (DPR) of proposed metro rail services in three major cities of Agra , Kanpur , and Meerut had been sent to the Centre for approval. On January 17, the Adityanath cabinet had cleared that the three proposed metro projects totaling about Rs 471 billion. The funds would be raised through share equity, debt, and borrowings from financial institutions. Agra, Kanpur, and Meerut metro rail projects would span investment of Rs 139.36 billion, Rs 183.42 billion and Rs 148.90 billion, respectively. The three metro services are projected to be operational by 2024. Yogi Adityanath said “The government was keen to expand metro services in other cities to add to the existing urban centers of Noida, Lucknow, and Ghaziabad. The state had formed UP Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) to centralize all operational and proposed metro rail services and speed up the projects.”...

RRTS Project | UP becomes first state in India to have rapid rail system

Lucknow: Looks like good news is finally coming for Uttar Pradesh. The state will become the first state in India to have a rapid rail system. It will receive the rail system during the first implementation of RRTS. As per sources, work on country’s first rapid rail is also on track. The rapid rail first corridor network will connect Delhi and Meerut. The central government is likely to give its nod, ahead of 2019 election. In a meeting chaired by UP Chief Secretary in Lucknow, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) team presented the plan. Experts from UP’s Metro Rail Corporation as well as other officers were also part of the meeting. Work on constructing the first Delhi-Meerut corridor has begun. Lucknow Metro | The State government approves estimate cost for Agra, Kanpur and Meerut Metro project

Lucknow: The state cabinet approved detailed project reports (DPR) of the Metro rail route in Agra, Kanpur and Meerut on Wednesday. He also appointed Lucknow Corporation Metro Rail (LMRC) as the interim consultant to execute the preliminary construction work of the priority section, deposit, retaining walls, etc. of these projects and issue related tenders in anticipation of approval of the Center. The Kanpur and Agra Metro projects will have two corridors each, while Meerut will have a corridor. All of these corridors should be completed by 2024. The estimated cost of completion of the Agra Metro, Kanpur and Meerut projects, as approved by the state government, is Rs 13,936 crore, Rs 18,342 crore and Rs 14,890 crore respectively. With the approval of the government, the construction will begin in Sikandara to the Taj East Gate corridor in Agra; IIT Kanpur to Moti Jheel in Kanpur, and between Shraddhapuri Phase-2 and Jagriti Vihar Extension in Meerut.
