LMRC & HDFC launch digital payment solution for various purposes

Lucknow: The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) and HDFC Bank Ltd. have today tied up for enhancing cashless transaction for Metro travel by launching digital payment solution for Metro commuters. Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director, LMRC, launched this facility at the Charbagh Metro Station in the presence of Shri Sanjeev Kumar, Regional Head- Uttar Pardesh, HDFC Bank and other directors and senior officers from both the companies. Speaking at a function organized on this occasion at the Charbagh Metro Station, Shri Keshav said “today’s development marks an important step ahead in the direction of counter less ticketing which the Lucknow Metro aims to achieve in the near future for the benefit of Metro commuters”. “By using this facility at the automatic Token Vending Machines (TVMs)/ Recharge Card Terminal Machines (RCTMs), the Metro commuters can now directly get the tokens from these machines by paying the fare through their debit/credit card in a cashle...

Lucknow Metro | LMRC completes the work of track laying in upline tunnel

Lucknow: The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has achieved another milestone while completing the work for the underground section between the Charbagh Metro station ramp & the K. D. Singh Stadium Metro station ramp by completing the track laying work in the UPLINE tunnel of this underground section. LMRC is using the Mass Spring System (an elastomer pad of 25mm thickness) below the track bed for construction of track. Mass Spring System, procured from Austria, eliminates the problem of vibration and sound in adjoining structures of the underground portion. For the construction of track, first of all the Elastomer Mass Spring System sheet is laid, then reinforcement mesh is laid over this and then it is filled with concrete up to the rail bottom. Rails are wielded continuously to avoid any joint in the rails. Lucknow Metro | LMRC completes track laying work between Hussainganj and Sachivalaya station

Lucknow: The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has completed the work of track laying for the Upline Metro tunnel between Hussainganj and Sachivalaya Metro Stations. This was observed today by Shri Kumar Keshav, Managing Director/LMRC, during his project site visit in the 3.5 km long underground section between Charbagh and Hazratganj in the capital city of Lucknow. Lucknow Metro| Now pay house tax using metro ‘GoSmart’ card

Lucknow: In an innovative move to improve house tax collection, Lucknow Municipal Corporation(LMC) has asked the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) help in collecting tax via GoSmart card. This moves come in wake of the poor house tax collection in Lucknow as the process is tedious and time consuming. By using metro card to pay taxes, people will soon be able to pay around Rs 3,000 tax through Metro ‘GoSmart’ cards at Metro stations. For people of Lucknow this will come as a much-needed respite. Currently people have to stand in long queues at municipal offices to pay house tax. This takes a lot of time and many avoid paying the tax owing to the inconvenience caused. With this new initiative commuters will be encouraged to take metro and use the GoSmart card to pay taxes. Lucknow Metro Rail Commuters will now be able to pay taxes with ease using GoSmart card. Lucknow Metro | Alstom delivers 15th train set to LMRC at Transport Nagar depot

Lucknow: Altom India delivered its 15th train set to the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) yesterday at its Transport Nagar Metro depot. Alstom Transport is manufacturing the trains at their manufacturing plant in  Sri City  (Andhra Pradesh)and the trains are transported through special trailers by road with pilot vehicles in the front & the rear. Gorakhpur Metro | LMRC prepares draft DPR, two corridors planned for Metro rail project

Lucknow: The  Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) has drafted a comprehensive detailed project report (DPR) of light metro rail project for CM Yogi’s native city Gorakhpur after studying Jakarta’s light metro rail system and several similar projects in Chinese cities. According to Kumar Keshav, Managing Director of LMRC, “The DPR will be submitted to the state government by the end of the month. We have identified two corridors an 18-km-long stretch and another 12-km long – that can be implemented in two parts. We want to keep the cost low and hence have studied and zeroed-in on cost-effective solutions for the project.” He further explained that the plan is to keep the stations small with just two car lanes and the civil structures lean. If the piers, viaducts, stations are smaller and lighter structures, they will incur lower costs because less concrete and raw materials will be required. As for the train coaches – as compared to say t...
