Mumbai Metro | Seven firms bidders for Mumbai-2A and Metro-7 corridor
Mumbai: The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Mumbai-2A and Mumbai Metro-7 corridor got seven firms bidders from National and International. A new tender opening for 378 metro coaches from the Dahisar to DN Nagar Metro-2A and Andheri (East) to Dahisar (East) Metro-7 corridor were recently opened in Delhi.
Till now there are approximately seven Indian firms and other international firms have submitted the bid documents. These seven firms are named as follow:
• Hyundai Rotem, Korea.
• Bombardier India & Bombardier Germany.
• CRRC Corporation Ltd.
• Bharat Earth Movers Ltd.
• Titagarh wagons & TitagarhFirema.
• Alstom Transport India & Alstom SA and
• CAF India & CAF, Spain.
An official said that the entire bidding process has been carried out adhering to the norms set by the Asian Development Bank who are funding the projects.
We have received an excellent response to the Rolling stock tender and are extremely happy to ensure timely completion of both the projects. Our aim is to provide a safe, robust, reliable and energy friendly metro network to the city, said R.A. Rajeev, Metropolitan Commissioner, MMRDA.
The official release also said that the successful bidder will soon be named by the evaluation committee.
These selected bidders are expected to provide 63 sets of trains of 6 cars each which is equipped with faster acceleration/deceleration. And the coaches will be completely air-conditioned, energy friendly with the regenerative braking system, equipped with CCTV security surveillance for passenger security and real-time track monitoring facility to ensure safety.
The trains will work on latest Communications-based train control (CBTC) signaling technology system and metro platforms will have platform screen door (PSD) for the safety of passengers.
