New Delhi Railway Station Redevelopment 2nd pre-bid meeting held
NEW DELHI (Metro Rail News): The second pre-bid meeting for the redevelopment of New Delhi Railway Station was recently held in New Delhi. 35 national and international firms including Arabian Construction Company, Anchorage Infrastructure, Adani, GMR, I Squared Capital, JKB Infra, Kalpataru participated in the meeting.
The deadline for submission of Request for Quotation (RFQ) for the project is November 6, according to different reports. Private players are being invited for the redevelopment of an area of 5 lakh square metres at New Delhi Railway Station and another 2.6 lakh sq metres around its surroundings for commercial purposes on Design-Build Finance Operate Transfer (DBFOT) model for a concession period of 60 years.
“The redevelopment of the New Delhi Railway Station has attracted interest from leading global firms. The project aims to transform NDLS into a world-class and a one-stop destination for retail, commercial and hospitality. It will also boost real estate and ensure a cascading development of New Delhi and surrounding regions,” according to an official.
"The concessionaire will earn revenue from several components including passenger handling fees collected from passengers via ticket sales; revenue from passenger facilities within the station such as retail areas, lounges, parking, advertisement spaces, F&B; and income from the development and lease of commercial components", a source added.
