Chennai Metro | CMRL releases map of Phase 2 metro project

Chennai: Chennai Metro Rail Limited has officially released a route map for its ambitious phase 2 metro project that will connect far-flung areas of the city through three corridors. In February, Metro Rail floated nine tenders for detailed design consultants and for soil tests. In one of the tenders, it has released a map of phase 2 with 104 stations, covering 107km. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 85,047 crore. Chennai Metro Phase II Network Map (PC: CMRL) However, after a review of the alignment, CMRL officials said they had increased the number of stations to 116 covering a total 107.55km along three corridors. The tenders CMRL has floated are also for corridor 3 (Madhavaram Milk Colony to Siruseri SIPCOT) that covers the IT hub on the OMR and corridor 5 (Madhavaram to Sholinganallur). New Delhi: The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) issued tender notice for Engagement of detailed design consultant for detailed designs and drawings of 4 nos. of elevated RRTS stations in the section from Sahibabad ramp to EPE Crossing and maintenance depots at Duhai and Modipuram for Delhi-Meerut RRTS Corridor. Delhi Metro | CMRS to start inspection of Durgabai Deshmukh-Lajpat Nagar section

New Delhi: The Pink Line is the second new line of Phase III of Delhi Metro which was partially opened on 14 March 2018. There will be an inspection of Delhi Metro"s Pink line, from Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus to Lajpat Nagar stations. The inspection will be done by the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) on July 23. The inspection will concentrate on the way for the opening of the section, which is likely to be inaugurated early next month, the official said. This stretch will have two interchange points INA and Lajpat Nagar. There are six new stations on this 8.10 Km stretch which are are Sir Vishveshariah Moti Bagh, Bhikhaji Cama Place, Sarojini Nagar, INA, South Extension and Lajpat Nagar. The INA commuters now an can easily interchange with the Yellow Line and Lajpat Nagar station with Violet Line a big congratulation for all the shopping lovers for connectivity for two big hubs of shopping.
