Chennai Metro | Celebrating Oral Hygiene Day on August 1, 2018

Chennai: On the occasion of Oral Hygiene Day on Aug 1, 2018, Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL) in association with Meenakshi Ammal Dental College will be conducting an Oral Hygiene screening and awareness camp at CMRL Admin Building and at Metro Trains.

A team of 25 doctors headed by Dr. Jaideep Mahendra, Director of Post Graduate Studies, Meenakshi Ammal Dental College, Maduravoyal. Chennai will be conducting the screening and awareness camp at CMRL Admin Building, Koyambedu for CMRL employees and staffs on Aug 1st, 2018 from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. A team of doctors will also be traveling on the Metro Trains to educate passengers about the significance of Oral hygiene on the same day from 8:00 am to 10:30 am to create awareness on Oral Hygiene. Free samples will be distributed for all staffs attending the screening camp and for the public on the train.

Oral hygiene plays an important role in preventing oral diseases. Every year, Aug 1 is being celebrated as Oral Hygiene day to commemorate the birth anniversary of the doyen of Indian society of Periodontics and the founder of the Indian Society of Periodontology, Dr. GB Shankwalkar. The primary objective of “Oral Hygiene Day” is to spread the message of Oral Hygiene and to curb the worrisome trend of neglect, which has been one of the main causes of dental diseases.

Chennai Metro always participate in every event which can bring them closer to the commuters heart and they are not only working for commuters but for their staff as well which can create a friendly relationship between the company and employees.
