Lucknow Metro | IRSPA selects LMRC"s Phase 1A project for RoSPA Award
Lucknow: The Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) informed through an official press release that Lucknow Metro’s Phase 1A Project (North – South Corridor) will be awarded with the International ‘Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA)’in the Project/Infrastructure category for 2018.
This prestigious award shall be handed over to LMRC in recognition of its safe practices and achievements in helping its staff/customers/clients/contractors while they were worked in the Project during execution of this Project throughout the year 2017.
“This award highlights LMRC’s continuous commitment in achieving highest standards of health and safety in the Project execution”, Kumar Keshav, Managing Director/LMRC said. “It indicates that the company has achieved a high level of performance by adopting good management systems which are delivering consistent improvement and are working towards the level of excellence", he added.
“The RoSPA Awards are the most highly-respected in the health and safety arena, with almost 2,000 entrants every year, and allow organisations to prove excellence in the workplace, demonstrating a commitment to the well being of not only employees but all those who interact with it”, said Ms. Julia Small, RoSPA’s head of qualifications, awards and events.
The RoSPA Awards scheme, which receives entries from organisations around the world, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement. Competitive awards go to the best entries in 24 industry sectors including construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, engineering, manufacturing and education.
Earlier, LMRC has also won several prestigious national and international awards including the Best Urban Mass Transit Project in 2017 by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs, Government of India, the Best Metro project for ‘Excellence in Innovative Designs’ in 2016, the ESQR Quality Choice Prize in 2016 in Berlin (Germany) under the Gold Category, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Memorial Award on Innovation in Governance in 2016, the ‘International Quality Summit (IQS) Award 2016’ under Gold Category by Business Initiative Directions (BID) Group One - in Madrid, Spain, the Dun & Bradstreet Infra Award, 2017 in 2017 in Mumbai etc.
RoSPA is a British charity organization that aims for promotion of safety and prevention of accidents in project execution world over. This award will be presented to Lucknow Metro during a ceremony at Glasgow, United Kingdom on 13th September, 2018.
