Kochi Metro | MHUA selects KMRL for best urban mobility project in India

New Delhi: The Kochi Metro Rail Project has been selected for the “Best Urban Mobility Awards” by a jury headed by former union urban development Secretary M. Ramachandran. The award will be given by Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in a event being organised by Institute of Urban Transport (India) on November 4-6, 2017 in Hyderabad, India.



The jury held view that the Kochi Metro Rail Ltd (KMRL) is implementing an excellent urban public transport model consisting rail, road and water transport projects in Kerala.


The Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Shri Hardeep Singh Puri will present the award to all selected metro projects in various category during the 10th Urban Mobility India International conference being hosted by the Union Urban Development Ministry every year.


First run of Kochi Metro Rail started for public from June 17, 2017 and on 3rd October its added it extension line for public services.
