Allahabad Metro | ADA completes survey of first phase of metro rail project in city

Allahabad: The first survey of the first phase of of 35km route of the Metro project was completed and a corpus of Rs 3.5 crore was allocated for the purpose.


Divisional Commissioner Rajan Shukla on Saturday held a meeting with Allahabad Development Authority (ADA) and police department officials to review the progress made on the project. He also stressed on the beautification work at various crossings.


In an attempt to involve locals with the Metro project, district administration also announced a logo contest for the Metro rail. Under the contest participants have to draw a logo for the project. The district administration would give away prizes to the winners.

The Metro rail service is expected to provide a rapid transit system to citizens across the district and help lakhs of pilgrims travel from various parts of the city to the holy Sangam during Magh Mela, Ardh Kumbh and Mahakumbh. The project would be caried out on the lines of Kanpur Metro project.
