Kochi Metro | KMRL to offer jobs to transgenders

Kochi: Kochi Metro Rail Ltd has decided to extend employment opportunities to transgender community in housekeeping, crowd management and customer relations.


“At a time when transgenders face a great deal of oppression, the Kochi Metro Rail has decided to be the change they wish to see in society, extending employment opportunities in housekeeping, crowd management and customer relations to the transgender community,” Elias George, Managing Director of Kochi Metro Rail Limited said.

Chennai: Chennai Metro Rail Limited has officially released a route map for its ambitious phase 2 metro project that will connect far-flung areas of the city through three corridors. In February, Metro Rail floated nine tenders for detailed design consultants and for soil tests. In one of the tenders, it has released a map of phase 2 with 104 stations, covering 107km. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 85,047 crore. Delhi Metro | CMRS to start inspection of Durgabai Deshmukh-Lajpat Nagar section

New Delhi: The Pink Line is the second new line of Phase III of Delhi Metro which was partially opened on 14 March 2018. There will be an inspection of Delhi Metro"s Pink line, from Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus to Lajpat Nagar stations. The inspection will be done by the Commissioner for Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) on July 23. The inspection will concentrate on the way for the opening of the section, which is likely to be inaugurated early next month, the official said. This stretch will have two interchange points INA and Lajpat Nagar. There are six new stations on this 8.10 Km stretch which are are Sir Vishveshariah Moti Bagh, Bhikhaji Cama Place, Sarojini Nagar, INA, South Extension and Lajpat Nagar.
